For The Love Of CHI!!!

CHI 44 Iron Guard
I woke up this morning feeling GOOD, slept real GOOD. So I got out of bed, walked into the bathroom, looked in the mirror and notice my hair wasn’t looking so GOOD at all! I guess all that GOOD sleep didn’t do so GOOD on my hair! In times like this I have to resort to re-curling my whole head, which I sometimes dread. To protect my hair from the heat of my flat iron, I use CHI 44 Iron Guard. I just spray all over before I curl my hair. It’s especially great for long hair that is natural or relaxed. Do you use heat on your hair more than once a week? Well make sure and pick up your bottle today!

I love, love, love, make-up! It’s part of my everyday “uniform”, especially because I’m a hair stylist. I like to look presentable for my clients and potential clients at all times, but I’m not the one to spend an arm and a leg on make-up. I do love my MAC though, I will never leave you nor forsake you NW 45 studio press! BUT, I will however stray away at times to other eyeshadows, lipglosses, and lipsticks. My fav low budget eyeshadows are L’Oreal HiP intensity pigments. I have them on in the pic above. I used the duo colors Charisma (concentrated shadow duo) and Flare (bright shadow duo). The shadows cost about $6 at your local Wal-Mart.  Check out a closer look after the jump Read the rest of this entry »

4 Things to Think About Before You Cut Your Hair.

4 Things To Think About Before You Cut Your Hair
Changing your look can be “life changing”…. really it can be! Well at least that’s how it feels to some people. There are many reasons why we want to go from long to short or in between. Before you allow your stylist to be scissor happy, there are 4 things to think about:

  1. Do I really want to cut my hair, or am I being emotional?
    • Negative things in life should not justify you cutting your hair, because you may wake up the next day thinking “what did I do?!?” .
  2. Just because it’s cute on “her” doesn’t mean it’s cute on you.
    • Ok, let’s be logical. You may see Rihanna or some chick with a banging haircut, BUT that doesn’t mean it will look like that on you. Find a cut that fits you, your personality, your profession, your life.
  3. Does the cut I want fit my face?
    • Oval Face – can carry a wide range of styles
    • Oblong Face – bangs, layers, nothing too long
    • Round Face – add volume to the crown on styles, layers
    • Square Face – short spiky styles work
    • Heart Face – deep side parts, bobs, bangs can work
  4. Can I maintain my style?
    • When you leave the salon, can you achieve the same or similar style your stylist does? Can you sleep well with your style? Can you financially keep up your style? Hmmm…

If you answered all these questions with ease, then go ahead, get your new style! If not, I suggest you think over your makeover one more time.
