TheHaiRazor Project Nail Care 2011

For the past few years I’ve been wearing an acrylic overlay on my nails. This past December I decided to soak off the acrylic and wear my natural nails. This is big for me because I always had an acrylic overlay so my nails could look presentable without me doing them myself. My hands are always in water so the acrylic was just easier, no chipping, hard thick nails, etc.

So now comes the work, lol. Yes to me natural nails take work, especially for me because I am very anal about how my hands look. Currently, my nails are in the “intensive care” stage. Meaning, I’m in the process of growing out that sensitive layer of nail that was under the acrylic. My nail tech gave me this great product called NailTek (Intensive Therapy for soft peeling nails) to build back my nail strength. I was supposed to put a layer of the NailTek on every day for 7 days BUT I was horrible with keeping up with that regimen in the beginning. I finally got on track and now my nails are feeling much harder.

Ok so with all that out of the way, I can explain to you the title of this post, “TheHaiRazor Project Nail Care 2011″. Now this isn’t a big national campaign for everyone to join, it’s a personal one. You can do your own project on your own if you’d like though! In this “project” I will share with you my nail health journey. I’ll share any new tips, nail care products, polishes I love, etc. It’s just something fun and new I thought I’d do on the site. So make sure and check back and feel free to share with me your own nail care tips and tricks!

P.S. The polish in the pick is one of my favs by China Glaze, “Tantalize Me”!

Minx and OPI Team Up!

You will soon be able to do Minx (well sort of) at home! Minx and OPI have teamed up with Sephora to distribute OPI Chic Prints for Nail Design Appliqués. Now, of course there’s a catch to this “at home Minx” application. Peep what the founders of Minx had to say…

The OPI Chic Prints will be marketed as nail fashion that lasts one to two days, and they are applied using only hand-generated friction. Initially, eight designs will be introduced, with additional designs for holidays. None of the designs will be the same as the professional designs that we offer at the MinxNails.com online store.

The OPI Chic Prints are not in any way an alternative to the original Minx nails, which must be applied by a nail professional, and which last 4 to 8 days on the fingers, and up to 4 weeks on toes…

Serena Williams the Nail Tech???

Yep!! Tennis star Serena Williams is in Nail School! I personally think she is sooo cool for doing this! Serena teamed up with a company called HairTech to do her own nail collection. Kim Kardashian’s Super Bowl Minx!

Kim K tweeted about her super cute minx nails yesterday before the Super Bowl. She rep’d her boo, Reggie Bush, with gold and black minx that spelled out BUSH and the #25 on her thumbs. That’s right girl, represent! WHO DAT!!!

OPI Hong Kong Collection

Soooo on Monday at my color class, I was able to check out the OPI Hong Kong Collection coming out next month(February 2010). The collection is very pretty with super vibrant colors. I didn’t pick any of the collection up yet, but once I figure out which ones I really want I will! I am digging Meet Me On The Star Ferry though!

The other day I hit up my favorite store that I have a love/hate relationship with, Wal-Mart. I was super bored with my nails so I decided to try a new polish. Above you see Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Extreme Wear polish in Deep Purple. It was only $2 bucks! The color is very vibrant and glossy, even without a top coat.
