EduRazor: Knowing The Different Types Of Haircolor

Mary J Blige Haircolor
Clients, friends, and strangers ask me all the time what’s the difference in haircolor. Some people think that you can take a semipermanent “blond” color, put it over dark brown hair, and BAM, you’re an blond! Well it’s not that simple… let’s break each type of haircolor down:

  1. Temporary Haircolor: a non-permanent color that only coats the hair shaft and can removed by shampooing. Temporary haircolors only makes a physical change in hair, not chemical. some examples of temporary hair colors are color rinses that are applied weekly, colored mousses and gels, hair mascara, spray-on haircolors, and color enhancing shampoos.
  2. Semipermanent Haircolor: a haircolor formulated to last through several shampoos, depending on the hair’s porosity. Semipermanent haircolors do not lighten the hair, they stain the hair shaft, which gradually fade with each shampoo. This haircolor usually last 6-8 weeks.
  3. Demipermanent Haircolor: a deposit only hair color, sometimes labeled as a semipermanent by certain manufacturers, but last longer than semipermanent haircolors.
  4. Permanent Haircolor: a haircolor that is used to match, lighten, and even cover gray hair. Permanent haircolors require a developer (hydrogen peroxide) in order to work. This haircolor remains on the hair shaft until there is new growth. Temporary, semipermanent, and demipermanent haircolors are often used to temporarily alter the look of permanent hair.

TheHaiRazor Hair Tip: Tame Hair Static

Tame Hair Static
So you wake up, do your normal beauty routine, then you get to your hair. You’re brushing and styling, styling and flat ironing, all the while your hair is giving you the annoying static look up top. Your first instinct is to just keep brushing, it may go down. When that doesn’t work, don’t get mad, just pick up some hairspray! Spray a LITTLE on your comb or brush and lightly brush it down. You can also apply hairspray directly to the palm of your hand, then smooth it down. There you go, no more static!

The Power Of Baking Soda… Facial Scrub

The Power Of Baking Soda... Facial Scrub
I know that there are a million things that you can do with baking soda, but I never thought of using it as a facial scrub. I started using baking soda as a part of my daily beauty regimen about a month ago and I really like it! I add about a tablespoon of baking soda to my facial cleanser. It works as a gentle facial scrub and has your skin feeling really soft afterwards. My dads been using it as well and his skin tone has evened out very nicely. If you want to try this at home, you can use the baking soda by itself or with your facial cleanser as an added boost.
