FitRazor: Green Smoothie Recipe

green_smoothie_recipeHey everyone! So I get asked all the time about the green smoothie recipe that I drink. Well, here it is! Now I’m not the originator of this recipe, I use the famous Glowing Green Smoothie recipe by Kimberly Snyder. I LOVE this version of the green smoothie because well it was the first one I ever tried and its soooo good! I prefer smoothie’s over juicing because you get all of the nutrients from your fruits and vegetables. Juicing extracts some nutrients and leave the others. I know some folks may see different, but to each it’s own.

Here’s what you’ll need: ( This makes 60 ounces )

1 1/12 cups of water

1 head organic romaine lettuce, chopped

1/2 head large bunch or 3/4 small bunch organic spinach

3-4 stalks organic celery

1 organic apple, cored and chopped

1 organic pear, core and chopped

1 organic banana

Juice of 1/2 organic lemon

** I also add juice of 1/2 organic orange

Ok so first, I do not have a top of the line blender and that’s really not required. I have a Cuisinart blender but it works really good until I get the Vitamix that I really want. Not as smooth but it works! 🙂

Add your water and chopped romaine lettuce and spinach first. Let that blend then add your celery, apple, pear and blend again. Add your banana, lemon juice and orange juice last and there you have it, an amazing Glowing Green Smoothie!
