This past Saturday, my husband Sylvester and I decided to do date night a little different and attend a pretty cool event, The Village Market Atlanta. Founded by Dr. Key Hallmon, The Village Market Atlanta is a quarterly event that brings together black arts, food, small businesses and so much more. From TheVillageMarketATL.com:
The Village Market Atl was birthed after Dr. Key Hallmon began hosting monthly master classes on entrepreneurship and community development. As she surveyed the audience, she noticed how many entrepreneurs were simply awaiting an opportunity to showcase their many talents and products. She coupled her love for organic food and urban farmers and created a space that entrepreneurs can launch their businesses and where families can affordably attend. The Village Market Atl is an open invitation for the community to come together and collectively radiate, enjoy the arts, network, eat locally sourced foods, and simply enjoy an event that is fueled by the essence of our village.
Our mission of TheVillageMarketATL™ is to support the sustainability of socially conscious, local, community-minded, entrepreneurs and startups. In addition to vending opportunities, we offer bi-monthly classes on financial literacy and entrepreneurship to serve as a launch pad for entrepreneurs.
We provide a space for kidpreneur, nonprofits, and small business owners.
We offer a green, clean event– all locally sourced and biodegradable products.
We partner with change makers, universities, businesses and sponsors who believe in the advancement of the collective.
The place was filled with so many amazing people, including Tierra Burrell of TierraGoesGreen.com! If you follow me on Instagram and Youtube, you probably heard me talk about her a bunch of times. Tierra is a plant-based lifestyle consultant, former makeup artist, and all around dope chick! Last year I participated in her lifestyle detox program to help with my transition to a more plant-based lifestyle.
As you can see, I was pretty excited to meet Tierra in person. I’m a pretty visual person so following her online and her wisdom has been so beneficial for me on my weight loss and health journey. Make sure and check her out on Instagram and Tierragoesgreen.com.
Sylvester and I had such a great time at The Village Market. We ate some great vegan food, ran into a few familiar faces, bought some goodies, and just chilled. Be sure to keep up with The Village Market Atlanta on IG for future events!
