A few weeks ago I posted some great youtube videos with tips from SoftSheen-Carson’s creative director, Johnny Wright. In the videos he talked about the brands new line, Optimum Care Salon Collection. Recently I had the pleasure to review the Salon Collection’s Heat Protection Polish. This clear, sleek polish is said to protect hair from heat styling and maintain smoothness, even in moisture and humidity.

I tried the Heat Protection Polish on some clients and myself. I must say I really like it! I recently colored my hair so I felt like it gave it a nice dose of protection when I curled my hair. The shine lasts for days and I didn’t have to reuse the product every day. You really have to be careful on how much of the product you use though. It can be greasy and weight your hair down if your hair texture is pretty fine. Also be careful when traveling with this product. I went out of town to do my clients hair for her wedding and some of the product wasted in my hair bag. The cap was locked and everything!

From day one I was impressed by the primer. I did have to get used to it though. It’s very thick and you kind of have to buff it into your skin. I was also a little scared because it made my skin look a little ashy. But, after I put on my foundation or powder, it set in very well.
