TV personality La La Anthony is about to make her mark in the beauty world with her new cosmetics line, Motives by La La. The line is said to be available for all skin types but will focus highly on ethnic skin tones. Peep the video above for a sneak peak of the line. Motives by La La hits stores February 2nd!

FOTD: BIG Lashes & RED Lips

I decided to have a little fun with this FOTD! The last time I wore lashes was senior prom and let me tell you… that was a long time ago! LOL! I have extremely curly lashes so it’s hard to try to match them up. Recently, I bought a bunch of lashes to try them out again. I also wanted to re-try the red lip thing, hence today’s FOTD.

I went a little NYX crazy on a recent shopping trip so I used most of their products to achieve this look. For my eyes I used:

NYX Eyeshadow Base in White
e.l.f 144 Eyeshadow Palette
NYX Super Skinny Eye Marker
Maybelline Great Lash Mascara
Ardell Brush on Brow
#47 Lashes

On my eyes are a mixture of the golds and neutrals in the e.l.f 144 piece palette.

I officially LOVE red lips now! I lined my lips with the pencil, then applied my lipstick. For more shine, I went over my lipstick with a gloss. For my lips I used:

NYX Lip Pencil in Plush Red
NYC Lipstick in Retro Red
NYX Lip Gloss in True Red

I’m real basic with my foundation so I used:

MAC Studio Fix in NW45
Milani Mosaic Powder in Honey Kissed ( for blush)

I had a lot of fun with this look and my hubby (who hated red lipstick) was really feeling it too! Hope you ladies like!

FOTD: My First Attempt At The Red Lip

For the longest I HATED red lipstick. I mean HATED IT! LOL I thought it was for old ladies with no style. I guess it was because of who I saw around me, the failed attempts of red lipstick on many girls trying to go with the trend. I’ve since changed that hate into a strong like of the red lip, especially since I see so many beauty bloggers, makeup artist, and celebs rocking a mean one! So two weeks ago I finally decided to step out of my lipstick box and try the red lip on myself.

Initially I thought about picking up the “holy grail” of red lipstick’s, MAC’s Ruby Woo. But then I thought, hmmmm let me start off “cheap” in case I’m not digging this red lip. I decided to pick up NYC’s 308 Retro Red. At first I wanted to wait and get a good liner to play with, however I was a little excited and just went for it. First, I applied a little lip balm followed by a little concealer ( a trick I saw on YouTube lol). I then lined my lip with the Retro Red then filled it in.

I think I did pretty good for a first try, however next time I gotta get some more color in the corners of my lips.

Nicki Minaj & Ricky Martin For MAC Viva Glam 2012

Earlier this year it was announced that Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin would be the new faces of the MAC Viva Glam campaign. Here’s the new ad campaign of the two shot by fame photographer David LaChapelle. The new Viva Glam products will drop in stores February 2012.

Face Of The Day: Blue’s Clues With e.l.f’s 144 Piece Palette

Here’s a look that I did with my new 144 piece palette from e.l.f. I’ve been using it since I got it, however this was my first time experimenting with their purples and blues. I really like it too, e.l.f’s shadows has a lot of pigment in them. Check out what I used to achieve this “blue” look!

Smashbox Lipgloss in Lovely

Here are the shadows that I used to achieve the look. The lavender shadow was used in my inner eye and the grayish metallic shadow was used to create the “smokey” look. I mixed the blues to line underneath my eyes. Last I used the lightest ivory shadow (not pictured) to highlight my brow bone.

Just add liner, blush, mascara, lips and your done! Hope you like!

Miss Piggy For M.A.C

Our favorite feisty muppet, Miss Piggy, is doing big things! With the new muppets movie that will hit theaters this December, M.A.C cosmetics has teamed up with the diva piggy for a new collection! The collection will be an online exclusive for the month of November. It will feature a blue eyeshadow, black liner, and dramatic lashes.

This will surely be some laughs cause they know how to do the most with Miss Piggy! Check back soon for more on this collection!

Maybelline FIT Me Update… FIT Me NOT!!!

It’s been a few months now since I’ve been using the Maybelline FIT ME brand. I decided to go through the whole summer wearing FIT Me because it was light and I just wasn’t in much of a make-up buying mood. So last week I finally ran out of my FIT Me pressed powder. I was like “Ok cool, I’ll just go pick up some more, hey it’s light and cheap!” So I hopped on over to my local Target after work and picked up the powder, which was on sale.

The next morning, while putting on my make-up I noticed that the powder I bought (355), looked a little lighter in the package. I just shrugged it off and put it on anyway. BUT then it looked lighter on my face as well. I shrugged it off again and decided to let it “set” in my skin. When I got to work I looked in the mirror and I felt like my face looked ashy! BIG NO NO! I thought it was just me so I put it on a second day and asked my husband what he thought. He agreed and said it made my face look lighter and ashy as well. I was soooooo done by then! We made it a point to visit MAC that same day and pick up my best friend… NW45 Studio Fix powder.

So in the end, I will no longer be purchasing the FIT Me pressed powder. I still have the other products and they work fine. I’m thinking Maybelline probably changed the formula or something! I’m still wearing the same MAC foundation so I highly doubt my complexion has changed much during the summer. Oh well FIT Me…. it was fun while it lasted…peace out!

Nicki Minaj & Ricky Martin Named New Faces of MAC Viva Glam

MAC cosmetics recently announced Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin as their new faces of MAC Viva Glam 2012. It is said that both Minaj and Martin were in Miami yesterday shooting the campaign. The 2012 Viva Glam campaign will start February of next year.

MAC Viva Glam was founded in support of the fight against AIDS. 100% of the proceeds are donated to support the cause.

MAC Bloggers’ Obsessions Collection

A while back some of my favorite beauty bloggers got a chance to go to MAC headquarters in Toronto, Canada. There, they took a tour of the fabulous MAC lab and even got to create make-up of their own. The make-up was then formed into this great 9 piece collection, the MAC Bloggers’ Obsessions Collection. The collection will launch exclusively through maccosmetics.com on June 21 and will be available for only six weeks! I’m really feeling the “Evolution Revolution” and “All Of My Purple Life” lipglasses.
