On this past Wednesday Mommy HaiRazor and I went to see “The Color Purple” musical in our hometown, Atlanta, Ga. The show was held at the fabulous Fox Theater downtown. This was our first time seeing the play so we were super excited. Overall “The Color Purple” is a GREAT musical. The show is written true to the movie. I’ve never read the book so I don’t know how it runs with that. The play did make me want to read the book though! My only disappointment was that they didn’t sing any songs from the movie. I would have loved to hear that song that Shug sings to Celie, “Sista”. Fantasia did a super fantabulous job! Girl gave me goosebumps and made me teary-eyed! If you haven’t gotten your ticket yet, get it now ’cause you’ll miss out on a great experience! For my ATL peeps, the musical will be at the Fox until September 27th, so don’t miss out!
